Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh broccoli florets (finely chopped)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Blanch the chopped broccoli in boiling water for 2 minutes. Drain and pat dry.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the broccoli, cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses. Mix well.
  3. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Stir until combined.
  4. Add flour and one beaten egg to the broccoli mixture, stirring until a thick dough forms.
  5. Form the mixture into 1-inch balls.
  6. Roll each ball in flour, dip it into the second beaten egg, and coat with seasoned breadcrumbs.
  7. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Fry the broccoli cheese balls in batches for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  10. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
